We have a challengingopportunity for you to work in North East region with our esteemed partner UNDP on Project PROSPER.
OBJECTIVE OF PROJECT
Project PROSPER has been designed to improve the livelihoods of 4,500 beneficiaries and producers of natural fibers in the Northeast Region (NER) of India. It aims to
1. Implement and mentor the field components of the Business Enterprise Leadership and Management Programme (BELMP) for 30 social entrepreneurs with support from local development practitioners for the successful functioning of the programme,
2. Mentor the social entrepreneurs to build their capacities – connect to markets, proposal development and identifying funding opportunities, and
3. Support social entrepreneurs in training primary producers on natural fibre production and management.
THE ASSIGNMENTS YOU WILL HANDLE:
1. Conduct evaluations and impact assessments of livelihoods project.
2. Undertake baseline surveys, value-chain analyses, feasibility studies and business planning for promoting livelihoods of communities as well as organizations working with them.
3. Design capacity building programs and learning tours for livelihoods (session plans, training modules andother aids) for various stakeholders.
4. Research, analyze and evaluate the competitive market environment for rural producers and products.
5. Achieve quality not only in the final output but also in the overall processes of project.
6. Ensure efficient and cost-effective management of projects with clearly established project processes and timeliness in the completion of projects.
7. Develop partnership with Government and Banks to support social entrepreneurs.
8. Prepare high impact reports, presentations and other documents.
9. Build good relationship with Partners and all the stakeholders.
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU:
1. Strong technical skills across the spectrum of livelihoods – needs assessment, surveys, feasibility studies,intervention design, market research, program management, M & E, and documentation
2. Sound knowledge and experience of research and study methodologies for both large and small requirements
3. Competent communication skills (written, spoken and presentation)
4. Strong analytical skills
5. Ability to use statistical tools for data compilation and analysis
6. Strong skills with spreadsheet software
7. Ability to plan, budget, implement and manage projects
8. Experience in spearheading capacity building program
9. Skills to prepare robust business plans and develop reports
10. Ability to work with diverse team and engage with communities and other partners
11. Ability to work with client directly
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
QUALIFICATION: Masters in Agri-Business/Rural Management/MBA/Livelihoods from a reputed institute such as
IRMA, XIM-B, TISS, IIM and Graduation from reputed college
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3-5 years in working with a leading organization on livelihoods issues
LANGUAGE: Knowledge of English and Assamese (Optional :Hindi)
NATIVE: Preference would be given to candidates of NE region

LOCATION
Position is based out of Gauhati, Assam. Field travel would be required from time to time.
